Learn how the Free and Premium plans compare, what a seat and a record pack cost, how the monthly and annual intervals differ, and what is included in each.
maxclicks has two plans: Free and Premium. Free covers building and trying the platform end to end at no cost. Premium raises the sending volume, the member count and the contact list, billed as a subscription. This article covers what each plan includes, how seats and record packs are counted, and how the monthly and annual intervals differ.
The paid plan is called Premium everywhere in the app. It is shown as Pro on our pricing page; they are the same plan.
The Free plan runs the whole product: build schemas, import contacts, create segments, design broadcasts and workflows, and send real email within its limits.
Free includes two allowances that behave very differently:
Free-plan email also carries a small "powered by maxclicks" badge in the footer. Upgrading to Premium removes it. To learn what the credits are spent on, read understand credits and auto reload.
Premium is a subscription that scales with your team and your list. It is billed through Stripe, with the card entered directly in the app. You pick one of two intervals, monthly or annual, when you subscribe, and maxclicks counts your seats and record packs automatically from the space itself.
Premium is built from three moving parts plus a flat email allowance:
A seat is one member with Write permission. Non-paid Admin is the one free role: it reads everything and administers the workspace (members, billing, settings) but cannot edit any entity, so a reviewer who only needs to read costs nothing, at the price of holding admin powers. Seats are counted server-side from your members, so when a member gains or loses Write, your seat count follows automatically with no number to set by hand. See how permissions map to seats in invite members and set permissions.
A record is a contact or an object, and both count toward your record allowance and are billed the same way. Contacts are not free relative to objects; the two are treated identically.
Premium includes 5,000 records. Beyond that, records are billed in packs of 1,000. A record pack is a recurring holding cost for keeping those records, not a one-time purchase, so your record cost rises and falls with how many contacts and objects your space holds. maxclicks counts your records automatically.
Both intervals include 1,000,000 emails per month. This is a flat number: it does not scale up or down with your record count or list size. If you send beyond it, extra email is billed at 0.12 US dollars per 1,000, with no hard stop. For most senders, the included million covers everything.
The two intervals price the same components differently. Monthly is fully elastic and annual trades flexibility for a 20 percent discount. You compare the plans and choose the interval on the Plans page under Settings, which is also where you subscribe.
| Component | Monthly | Annual (20 percent off, prepaid) |
|---|---|---|
| Base fee | 49 dollars per month | 470 dollars per year (about 39.17 per month) |
| Per seat | 20 dollars per month | 192 dollars per year (about 16.00 per month) |
| Per record pack of 1,000 | 7 dollars per month | 67.20 dollars per year (about 5.60 per month) |
| Included email | 1,000,000 per month | 1,000,000 per month |
| Extra email | 0.12 per 1,000 | 0.12 per 1,000 |
| Real entry price | 69 dollars per month (base plus first seat) | 662 dollars per year (base plus first seat) |
On the monthly interval, quantities go up and down with usage. Add a Write member and your next bill grows; remove one and it shrinks. Cross a record threshold in either direction and the record-pack count follows.
On the annual interval, the whole year is prepaid and co-termed onto a single renewal date, at 20 percent off every component. Because the year is paid up front, growth mid-term (adding a member, crossing a record threshold) is charged immediately, prorated to the renewal date. Reductions do not refund mid-term; they take effect at the next renewal. Annual suits a stable, growing team that wants the discount; monthly suits a team whose size changes month to month.
Pick carefully, because the interval is fixed for the life of the subscription. There is no control that switches an existing subscription between monthly and annual: to move from one to the other, cancel the subscription on Billing and subscribe again from Plans on the interval you want.
Numbers land better with a concrete case. Take a space with three members who all have Write permission, holding 8,000 records between contacts and objects.
On the monthly interval, that space pays the 49 dollar base, three seats at 20 dollars (60 dollars), and record packs for the 3,000 records above the included 5,000. That is three packs of 1,000 at 7 dollars, or 21 dollars. The monthly total is 130 dollars, and it includes the full 1,000,000 emails a month.
The same space on the annual interval pays 470 dollars base, three seats at 192 dollars (576 dollars), and three record packs at 67.20 dollars (201.60 dollars), for 1,247.60 dollars a year. The monthly interval would cost 1,560 dollars over the same year, so annual saves the space about 312 dollars, the 20 percent discount at work. The tradeoff is flexibility: if the team drops to two seats mid-year, the monthly plan stops charging the third seat right away, while the annual plan keeps it until renewal.
When an admin upgrades, activation does two extra things beyond starting the subscription:

Inspect the actual Plans comparison and switch between monthly and annual billing. AI credits and sending allowances are separate rows. No upgrade, checkout or payment is submitted.
Prices above are the current figures and are set per deployment, so they can change. Your Billing page always shows what your space is actually charged. To manage the wallet that credits are spent from, read understand credits and auto reload, and to see what you have spent, read read your usage report and invoices.
Nothing. You get 5 credits once when your space verifies its first domain, plus 100 emails per month.
A seat is one member with Write permission. Non-paid Admin, which reads and administers but cannot edit, is the one free role. maxclicks counts your seats automatically from your members, so granting or removing Write changes your seat count and your bill on its own.
A record is a contact or an object, and both are billed identically. Premium includes 5,000 records; beyond that you pay per pack of 1,000. It is a recurring holding cost for keeping those records, not a one-time purchase, so it rises and falls with your list size.
Monthly is fully elastic: seats and record packs move up and down with usage each month. Annual is 20 percent off every component but prepaid and co-termed, so growth is charged immediately and prorated, while reductions only apply at renewal. Choose monthly for a changing team and annual for a stable, growing one, and choose deliberately: the interval is fixed once you subscribe, so switching means cancelling and subscribing again.
Nothing. The 1,000,000 included emails per month is a flat number that does not scale with your record count or list size. Growing your contact list changes your record-pack cost, not your email allowance. Email beyond the included million is billed at 0.12 per 1,000.
